The basic structure for my greenhouse is now complete though it still requires a concrete floor, windows (thinking of twin walled polycarbonate plastic), electrics and the plumbing of a 4000 liter water tank. Then I can start setting up the Aquaponics system delivered a few weeks ago.
Below is a series of photographs showing the erection of the greenhouse structure.
So excited for you! Can’t wait to show these photos to my husband. When the kids leave the nest, we may have to look for some acreage. 🙂
The carport is 6 meters by 7 meters and will house a 2300 litre fish tank and 6 grow beds, so you don’t need a lot of ground. It is possible to have a balcony Aquaponics system which would provide quiet a lot of veggies for a small family.
Hopefully the slab will be poured within the next one to two weeks and so I’ll be able to show you the full system set up.
Thanks for following my adventure Angela.
Wow you sure are under way! We’ll be looking at your progress as you go.
Thanks for your encouragement Nancy. Should be able to show you the full system once the slab has been poured though it will take a few months before it starts to mature and produce vibrant organic veggies in quantity.
Oh sure, everything will need to get well established but you’re getting there now.
That was already a lot od work for you! It is beginning to look great & I am so excited for you!
Thanks Sophie. I’ve just had the slab poured today and so am excited that in a few days I’ll be able to start putting the system together in readiness for planting after I return from my 2100km bike ride starting on April 26th. It would be nice to have you follow me as I post daily updates on https://give.everydayhero.com/au/team-m2m
Sorry I haven’t followed your blog as closely as I should, but I’ve been busy preparing for the trip and organising the Aquaponics.
Paul
