Great video, Paul! Your soya milk looks so smooth and delicious and it’s making me think I’d like a big bowl of buckwheat granola right now. 😉 Homemade plant-based milks are truly wonderful (no carrageenan or other nasty “stuff”).
Thanks Angela. This is my first attempt at video with the aim of eventually making a series of them to create a full video cookbook. I don’t like being in front of the cameras but :)if I don’t do it then it will never get done. 🙂
I like that idea. All the best!
This soy milk recipe seems so awesome! I’m really getting into homemade milk. My wife made me some vegan pistachio milk the other day – my new favourite! What other milk have you tried making?
I’ve made Almond, Cashew, and Brazil using the same method and they all turned out well.
I have a Thermomix and Hurom slow juicer that I use but they are very expensive to purchase so that is why I tried the Kogan products as they were a fraction of the cost (The Kogan Thermoblend was 1/10th the price of the Thermomix and the Kogan slow juicer 1/5th the price of the Hurom). There are many other brands on the market that I am sure are equally as cheap and effective so don’t think that it was a sales pitch for Kogan. I’m just keen for people to eat healthily and within their budget.
Thanks for the post.
Thanks for the super details! My wife used a vitamix to make her pistachio milk. http://www.mywifemakes.com/2014/09/21/my-wife-makes-mini-vegan-chocolate-donuts/
What’s the main difference in your experience between a fast rotor and a slow one? Sorry for the questions – just intrigued by your creation and methods! 🙂
All the advice seems to suggest that there is less heat build up in the slow juicer so more of the goodness is retained. I love my Hurom as it is easy to use, relatively quiet and also relatively quick and easy to clean. I have used the ultra slow worm action juicers but have found them harder to use and much more difficult to clean.
Love questions so please don’t appologise. Any time.
Sorry for the slow response.
A great cool video, dear Paul! thanks! 🙂 I hope all is well! x
